A “SPLOT” is basically a WordPress theme developed especially for an educational setting. It installs WordPress on your cPanel account with a theme and some images and text ready for you to customize.
Setting them up is a little different to a normal WordPress install, so we’ve made a video walkthrough to help get you started:
One thing to remember is that you’ll need to remember your username and password you create during the setup process when you install WordPress this way.
How to install the WP-Dimensions SPLOT:
There’s more detail in the video, but the basic steps are:
- Click on All Applications in cPanel (not WordPress)
- Choose WP-Dimensions Calling Card CMS and click Install
- Leave the installation path blank to install on your subdomain (i.e. example.coventry.domains) or add sometihng to add it as a seperate site (example.coventry.domains/bio)
- Leave all the default settings as they are, note your username and password and click Install
By the end of the tutorial, you should be able to make your homepage look something like this:
