Domain of one's own (dooo)
Own your space in a digital world
What's changed about Coventry.Domains?
If you’ve been a Coventry.Domains user prior to September 2020, don’t worry. Everything is still here, and you can access your site via that login button above.
We’ve added a new WordPress only service to Coventry.Domains available to all staff and students. The web hosting platform you’ve been using up to now will be referred to as the Domain of One’s Own service – a part of Coventry.Domains.
Go Beyond WordPress
Get direct access to cPanel so you can create something truly unique
Unlike our WordPress service, a Web Hosting account means you have to do more things yourself. In return, you get full control over the look and feel of your site.
You’ll be able to choose from a larger range of content management systems or simply have more customisation options for your WordPress site.
What can you do with DoOO?
While most users just need the WordPress only version of Coventry.Domains,
staff as well as students from selected modules can request a Domain of One’s Own account.
It’s closer to a web hosting account, so it requires more setup, but it allows users to access some of the following features:
Create a professional online presence and learn how to be an informed digital citizen
- Learn how to build your own website
- Master key digital skills for the future
- Explore and frame your digital identity
- Maintain control of your data and intellectual property
- Keep your content when you leave the University Group
Create and publish learning resources on the open web. Build participative learning into your teaching to help students build their digital fluency and authentic communication skills.
- Boost web literacy
- Prepare students for life in a hyperconnected world
- Training and ongoing support provided
How do I get an account?
Unlike Coventry.Domains WordPress, Web Hosting accounts aren’t available to everyone, so you’ll need to arrange access first.
